Visualising transformational medicine
Global biopharmaceutical company AbbVie’s ~50,000 employees focus on discovering and delivering transformational medicines and products in the key therapeutic areas of immunology, oncology, neuroscience, eye care, virology and women’s health, as well as through their Allergan Aesthetics portfolio.
They wanted to revolutionise their content and the way they engaged with healthcare professionals. Our task? To develop and implement podcasts, an online content hub, (even cooler) interactive infographics, and (the coolest) 3D data visualisations.
This last part we did using Veeva, a software used by most leading life science and healthcare companies. First, though, we worked with AbbVie’s medical directors to understand a specific pharmaceutical product or drug to then create a visual look.
The culmination of this – that 3D film – was awesome to work on and worked like a charm. AbbVie sent it to their key audiences (wholesalers, distributors, government agencies, health care facilities, speciality pharmacies and independent retailers), and we sent it to our mums proudly posted it on our SoMe channels.

Design is not just about colours and shapes. It also takes into account the complexities of human behaviour and decision-making.
