DATA LAKE
Need a place for all your raw data?
If you don’t know what a data lake is, no worries. It’s a centralized repository designed to store and secure large amounts of data in its native, raw format. Any data, any source, any size, and from many different sources. Data that hasn’t found its value and purpose yet but needs a place to crash (poor choice of word in this context) until needed.
A data lake is often a less expensive and more agile alternative to a data warehouse as it allows you to separate the storage layer and compute layer and doesn't require data to be organized in a specific way.
In other words, you can collect data immediately and figure out what to do with it another day.
